I have an amazing wife, an 8 year old daughter, and another girl on the way due May 9th. In my own life I love sports, especially soccer and wrestling which I played in high school and college. I also love to travel, and I have been to 21 countries and 48 states.

Hi. I'm excited to join the NCCA family as a high school counselor for students with last names beginning with A-D. I have been an educator for 13 years as a counselor and Spanish teacher. I transitioned from teaching full time to counseling seven years ago.  I a member of ASCA and NCSCA which are the national and state school counselor associations.  It has been an exciting journey to learn and grow with students from a different perspective. I am grateful for all the lessons I have learned as a counselor and the impact my students have had on my life.  Witnessing students mature through the short years of high school is rewarding and I love to see academic, social/emotional and behavioral growth in my students. My hope is that I have a positive impact on the students that I serve. I enjoy Zumba, beach vacations, sunshine and reading.  I love seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter of my husband and three daughters.

I am from the Peach State---Georgia but I moved to North Carolina to further my education in the areas of Counseling and Social Work. Prior to coming to North Carolina Connections Academy, I worked as School Social Worker, a Social Worker for a local Department of Social Services, and a Case Manager and Housing Specialist for a local Housing Authority. During that time, I assessed and addressed the needs as well as the interactions of children, families, school personnel, and the community. Also, I provided direct services such as individual and group counseling, dropout prevention, crisis intervention and response, conducted home visits, and coordinated school and community services.
